Welcome to my portfolio site. Please take the time to browse through my collection of paintings and drawings and feel free to write to me on my Contacts page. I would love to hear from you.

I am a self taught Canadian artist who has refined my craft over the last 30 years specializing in native North American cultures. I have as long as I can remember enjoyed painting and drawing. I spent a great deal of time studying great artists and their methods and developed my own style by countless trials and errors. I have walked through some of the greatest galleries in the world including the Louvre in Paris and the Walker gallery in Liverpool with my nose almost pressed to the canvas studying just how they did it. I love the art world and all that it entails. I never stop learning and applying anything new to my works and I am constantly challenging myself.

Thirty years ago I read a book called “Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee” by Dee Brown that changed my life. I became immersed into the incredible native cultures and spirituality and then became focused in putting this into my art. I discovered the beautiful photography of Edward Curtis and became even more inspired and many of my works are a reflection of his. I also draw inspiration from great artists such as Howard Terpning, Martin Grelle, Charles Russell, Harley Brown... so many. I truly believe that the native culture was highly evolved and it is a shame that so much of it was destroyed by “civilization”.

Recently I have been trying my hand at still life and landscape painting and I hope you enjoy them as much I have in painting them. I have also been involved in doing commissioned portraits. If you are interested, please contact me for a quote.
